TO WHAT TEMPERATURE CAN A SOLARISKIT SYSTEM HEAT MY POOL?
We installed a SolarisKit system to an above ground pool in Dundee, measuring the temperature of the pool water. We used 3 SolarisKit solar water heaters and a pool pump, for a pool sized 260cm x 160cm x 65cm. The graph below shows the average temperature of the pool along with the amount of sunlight received.
POOL TEMPERATURE AND SUNLIGHT
BLUE LINE: AMOUNT OF SUNLIGHT
The blue line shows the amount of sunlight received by the solar water heaters during the day. When the blue line rises, the sky is clear, when the blue line falls, the sun is behind the clouds.
Even when the sun is behind the clouds, the pool temperature continues to rise.
WEATHER IN DUNDEE
HIGHEST RECORDED POOL TEMPERATURE
As hot water rises, the highest recorded pool temperature shows the temperature at the top of the pool. The table above shows that the SolarisKit solar water heater is able to heat water above ambient temperature, reaching the ideal 25 degrees Celsius pool temperature that is desirable during the summer.
DOES A SOLARISKIT SYSTEM WORK IN CLOUDY WEATHER?
The short answer is yes.
The table above shows that even during scattered and passing clouds, the SolarisKit solar water heater is able to continue heating the swimming pool. During cloudy days, this may not be the case, but most days where there is some kind of sunlight, the SolarisKit solar water heater can heat your pool water.
Note: During cloudless, sunny days, the SolarisKit solar water heater can heat your pool water up even faster.
LOCATION
As we tested a swimming pool in Dundee, Scotland, it is likely that the weather may be warmer anywhere south of this location. We used Dundee as this is where we are based, and to show that if our system works in Sundee, it works anywhere!
