SolarisKit’s completes successful installation of our latest design HelioFlow solar collectors at the newly constructed gatehouse within Saqr Port, part of the RAK Ports Group.

Saqr Port is recognised as the largest bulk port in the Middle East and North Africa, handling over 60 million tonnes of cargo annually. As part of ongoing investments into infrastructure, RAK Ports has developed deep-water berths and equipped its facilities with modern handling systems to support its wide-ranging operations.

With a workforce of approximately 555 employees, many of whom are housed in on-site accommodation blocks, the port plays a key role in facilitating international trade and supporting industrial growth in the region. Strategically positioned near major shipping lanes, it continues to be a critical hub for maritime logistics.

The gatehouse installation features three of our newly developed HelioFlow solar collectors, which are expertly integrated with an existing 50-litre electric water heater. Designed to efficiently harness solar energy, the collectors now provide a reliable and sustainable hot water supply for the building. Discreetly mounted in a custom roof frame, the collectors are almost completely hidden from ground level, maintaining the clean architectural lines of the facility.

This installation not only demonstrates the versatility of the SolarisKit solar hot water system but also aligns with RAK Ports’ commitment to environmental, sustainability and energy efficiency. Harnessing solar energy, the gatehouse reduces its reliance on conventional energy sources, contributing to lower carbon emissions. We expect this system to supply over 75% of the daily hot water demand. Significantly reducing the energy required to power the electrical heater.

SolarisKit remains dedicated to providing innovative solar thermal solutions that support sustainable development goals.

We very much look forward to continuing our collaboration with RAK Ports and other partners committed to achieving their environmental goals.
