Our Story

At SolarisKit, we believe every building has the potential to harness the sun — not just for electricity, but for clean, efficient heat.

Our story began in 2019, when Dr Faisal Ghani, then a university academic in Edinburgh, learned that families in Kigali, Rwanda were spending up to 40 percent of their income on energy, much of it for water heating. As a mechanical engineer with nearly two decades of experience in solar thermal design, he saw an opportunity to rethink how solar heat could be delivered — simpler to install, lower in cost, and better suited for real-world use.

That vision led to the creation of the HelioFlow™ solar collector — the world’s first flat-packed solar thermal collector, engineered to deliver high performance while reducing embodied carbon and shipping volume by up to 80%. Designed for modern buildings and especially for flat-roof environments, HelioFlow™ provides a practical and aesthetically clean alternative to conventional solar water heating systems.

Since launching, SolarisKit has deployed its technology across Africa, North America, and Asia, and now proudly manufactures in the UAE, combining British innovation with local expertise. In 2024, SolarisKit won the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Innovation Competition, and in 2025 joined the Hub71 ClimateTech cohort in Abu Dhabi — milestones that reinforce our mission to help the built environment transition toward net zero.

Today, SolarisKit partners with property developers, ESCOs, and green building consultants to integrate solar thermal technology that is scalable, sustainable, and ready for the Gulf climate. Together, we are unlocking the potential of solar energy — making buildings greener, more efficient, and ready for a low-carbon future.
