SOLARISKIT HAS STARTED MANUFACTURING

We are delighted to announce that we have begun manufacturing our solar thermal collectors in Dundee. Our assembly line is complete and we have started production, manufacturing the first batch of solar collectors that we have shipped to Rwanda for our pilot project.

Since we moved to the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP)- an area focused on sustainable mobility and decarbonisation- our team has been working hard to put together the assembly line. The assembly line includes a number of work benches with component tooling installed, a laser cutter, and a research and development area. Since moving to MSIP at the start of 2021, it has been a long and exciting journey to producing our first batch of solar collectors!

For every collector sold, we have committed to planting 25 trees as part of our sustainability goal. This batch of solar collectors, for our pilot project in Rwanda, means that we have funded the plantation of 1,800 trees with our partner Ecologi. Together, these solar collectors and trees will annually mitigate the production of 32,400 kilograms of carbon. This is equivalent to over 80,000 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle, or 75 barrels of oil burned in a year. We believe that reducing carbon emissions, and offsetting where possible is essential.

Assembling the first batch of solar collectors was a very exciting time for our team; we have all been waiting to see the final, assembled product. Seeing the collectors rolling down the assembly line was as satisfying as it looks for us, too!

This has been a huge month SolarisKit, we are delighted to finally begin to manufacturing solar collectors!

The SolarisKit S400 solar collector is available now, contact us to find out more.
